Product Information

Aluminum is added to bronze to increase strength and hardness, with the most commonly supplied alloys containing around 10% aluminum. Aluminum bronze excels in excellent corrosion resistance (in fresh and salt water, as well as in acidic environments), high strength and wear resistance, good machinability, and thermal conductivity. Therefore, it finds very wide applications: pumps, bearings and bearing liners, bushings, gears, worms and worm wheels, high-strength clamps, hot mill guides, pistons and piston guides, valve bodies and seats, thrust pads, hydrant parts, pickling tanks and electroplating baths, nuts, electrical hardware, window hardware, musical instruments (piano keys), stuffing box nuts, aircraft components, glass molds, gun recoil mechanisms, landing gear parts, sewage treatment parts, welding jaws, covers for marina hardware, fittings, etc.

We supply bronze in the form of bars (round, flat, square, hexagonal, hollow), tubes, or sheets. We cut semi-finished products into precise pre-final dimensions using band saws.

Below you will find a selection of the most common material grades we work with. Note for European standards (EN): the prefix CC (e.g. CC492K) indicates castings, CB (e.g. CB492K) indicates ingots, and CW (e.g. CW492K) indicates alloys intended for forming. Note for mechanical properties tables: values may vary depending on the manufacturing process and profile – more precise information for a specific semi-finished product is available on request.
